This collection is inspired by the handmade quilts of Namabai, a celebrated artist from Khavda, a village in Gujarat, India. Namabai (now deceased) was an artist working within the 'United Artisans of Kutch' network. UAK is a unique platform that recognizes lesser known artisans and promotes their work to the world through their social media platforms and curated craft excursions across Kutch, Gujarat, India.
Meredith Walker, a multi-disciplinary artist known for her playful approach and love of folk art and vintage textiles, brings her unique vision to this collaboration. Her work, grounded in honesty, joy, and acceptance, encourages viewers to connect with these themes within themselves. Meredith’s interpretation beautifully captures the essence of Namabai's quilts, paying tribute to the vibrant colors and motifs that define her art.
