Suytik

Meet Proud Mary artist’s Suytik. Suytik is a group of Tsotsil women weavers from San Andrés Larráinzar. It is made up of multiple generations of the López Díaz family (Rosa, Paulina, Victoria, Mariana, Federica, Juana, Andrea, Lucía, Josefa and María Cristina) who have learned backstrap weaving since childhood as part of daily life and cultural tradition. Each member contributes her own style and vision, keeping alive a practice that reflects their Tsotsil identity.

In addition to their backstrap weaving textile art, limited edition fine art prints of Suytik’s pieces will be available on ProudMary.co - and each piece provides the artist with their first source of passive income.
