Every work of art starts with a unique way of seeing the world.

For one artist, it’s the raw beauty of Madagascar’s endemic forests. For another, it’s flowers gathered from the garden. For another, it’s discovering the connections between nature, daily life, and the sea. Different inspirations. Different stories. Each transformed into something others can experience.

Tanana Madagascar artists transform one of the world’s rarest wild silks into extraordinary textile art. The silk exists because of another remarkable partnership with CPALI (Conservation through Poverty Alleviation International), which works alongside farming communities to restore the endemic forests that the wild silkworms call home.

Together, they remind us that every work of art begins with something worth protecting - an ecosystem, a tradition, and a way of seeing the world.

These works are currently being exhibited in Charleston, South Carolina, as part of The Art of Craft, presented by Proud Mary at Allegory Art Collective. Limited edition fine art prints will be coming to ProudMary.co this fall.
